Building the Magis Brand
This project involves developing a comprehensive brand identity for Magis, a video game focused on a custom car shop experience where players repair, rebuild, and customize muscle cars, hot-rods, and trucks, and test them on a dedicated track.
The brand identity captures classic muscle car aesthetics, with a logo featuring an angled view of a car framed by two circles, highlighting the car’s long hood and prominent headlights. The brand name is set in the Magneto Bold Extended typeface, arranged along a circular line to echo the logo’s shape, reinforcing the game’s nostalgic and dynamic nature while establishing a distinctive visual identity.
Revving Nostalgia
For Magis’s logo design, the chosen colors of deep blue and bright orange are particularly effective in conveying the game’s themes of power, reativity, and excitement. The chosen colors are inspired by classic muscle car colors. The combination of deep blue and bright orange creates a visually appealing contrast that is both modern and timeless. The deep blue provides a strong, stable backdrop, while the bright orange injects energy and excitement.
Below is an example of the logo used for stationery, including letterhead design, and business cards. To maintain brand identity consistently across all marketing materials, the full bi-color logo is utilized along with the distinctive double-line design often associated with muscle cars. This ensures that the brand’s visual elements are cohesive and instantly recognizable in all forms of communication.

Dynamic Logo Animation & Introduction
The first sequence is the animation of the logo Magis. To create a dynamic and fun animation, the logo was animated in 2 main parts. The muscle car appears from the right at 1/3 from the top, stops at the center of the screen and then goes out of the screen following the same trajectory. The three blue and white circles appear with a clockwise rotation, followed by the name Magis with the same rotating animation.
The second part of the video is the introduction of the “DIY Corner”. The animation’s background is made of drawings of buildings taken from Dallas’s skyline. This is a reference to high number of muscle car enthusiast in Texas. The muscle car is in the same color as the Magis logo to link both animations. The car comes in from the right and exits through the left. The car speeds a little bit when it comes in and out from the screen, to give the impression that its accelerating. The words “DIY Corner” travels from the left to the right, with the animation Malicious Blur in/out, in white to provide contrast.
This effect for the text is used for all the texts in this composition in order to maintain consistency throughout the video. Similarly, a blue filter with a soft orange tint was applied to the video footage for the wipers, cleaning interiors and headlight to tie the video to the logo and the introduction sequences.
